GRIEF (in progress), 2019-2029, graphite on paper

Each panel: 7’ x 36” (currently, there are six)

I began this drawing in November of 2019, six months after my mom’s suicide. As time passes, I add panels to the right edge, representing my embodied experience of grief enmeshed with collective moments of upheaval and yearning, symbolic objects, and natural forms. This ongoing drawing is a living documentation of my undoing and reconfiguration - perhaps yours too? These DIY in-progress images mark about 2.5 years into the drawing - I aim to continue working for at least 7.5 more.
